About Kerri

Kerri Doherty is a Los Angeles-based comedy writer/performer who most recently sold a pilot to ABC Signature with Adam F. Goldberg. Her writing credits include Schooled (ABC), The Goldbergs (ABC), Hollywood Darlings (Pop TV), and Play by Play, which streamed on Verizon's Go90, an app no one's heard of.

According to Kerri's mom's Facebook page, her daughter is best known as a writer and host of IMDb's hit weekly show The IMDb Show. There, she got to do some pretty cool stuff, like smoking cigars at home with Norman Lear and interviewing professional action-runner Tom Cruise on the red carpet in Paris. You can see her doing all that cool stuff, and much more, on her IMDb page.

Since 2016, Kerri has mentored up-and-coming writers through two nonprofit organizations: WriteGirl, which empowers female/femme/nonbinary teens through writing, and VME, which aims to help military veterans land jobs in media and entertainment.

Kerri also cohosts the longest-running Golden Girls podcast, Out on the Lanai, which is really just a fancy word for "patio." The show is part of the Forever Dog podcast network; guests have included former Golden Girls writers and cast members, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner Alaska, and Grammy award-winning artist Lizzo.

Kerri obtained her BFA in Film & Television at Savannah College of Art and Design with a focus on screenwriting. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband Matt, daughter Zelda, and their dog, Super Awesome Dude.
